KACOSE stands for Kayole Asili Commuters Services — a cooperative running the Eastlands commute out of Kayole, one of Nairobi's most densely packed neighbourhoods. These are not routes that attract casual riders. They run hard, they run loud, and the matatus that survive on them earn their reputation through sheer presence.

Bash set the standard. Named for the nightclub-in-motion energy it brought to the daily commute, this KACOSE nganya became a landmark on the Eastlands tarmac: aggressive custom bodywork, layered graphic typography, and a bass system that announced it long before it arrived at the stage.
Muraguri's woodblock reduction locks that presence in. Salvaged timber grain runs through the background — not as texture for its own sake, but because the weathered wood matches the character of the vehicle itself. Each layer carved away during the reduction process is gone permanently. What you see is exactly what was cut.
