Oromats Sacco
Borussia Dortmund
$50.00
This woodcut print captures the Borussia Dortmund matatu, a striking tribute to the German football club's iconic black-and-yellow colours. Operating under Oromats Sacco in Nairobi, this matatu turned heads as it navigated the city's bustling routes, its side panels emblazoned with the BVB emblem and a dynamic portrait of the team's passionate fan culture. Dennis Muraguri's bold black lines and high-contrast carving style bring an energy that mirrors the roar of a match-day stadium. For Dennis Muraguri, each artwork is part of a larger mission — to document Nairobi's fleeting mobile gallery before these matatus are repainted or retired. This reproduction c-type print, hand-carved as a woodcut and printed on archival paper, preserves the raw energy of Nairobi's streets in crisp detail. Whether you are a football fan or a collector of contemporary African art, this print makes a bold statement. The A3 landscape format suits a living room feature wall, creative workspace, or gallery-style arrangement alongside other matatu prints from the series.
