Bash II

$50.00

KACOSE — Kayole Asili Commuters Services — runs deep into Eastlands, and the fleet reflects it. These are routes where matatus compete on spectacle: the loudest system, the boldest graffiti, the bodywork that stops pedestrians mid-stride. Bash earned its name on those streets. Bash II raised the stakes.

Where the original traded on nightclub energy and raw street presence, this successor pushed the visual language further — the composition more dynamic, the nganya culture distilled into a design that commands attention even as a still image. Muraguri's 2024 woodcut catches the livery at its peak: bold confident carving, high-contrast layering, the kind of mark that only comes from a reduction process you cannot undo. Each carved layer is gone permanently. The aggression in the design is built in, not added.

Part of Muraguri's ongoing documentation of how Nairobi's matatu airbrush tradition evolves — staying mobile, staying loud, staying ahead.
